There are many factors that go into the chemistry behind attraction and romantic love. A person’s physical appearance is certainly one -- human beings like symmetry as well as specific ratios between facial features. Social status is most certainly another.
SAY I LOVE YOU
This happens because our brains and hormones go wild when faced with a sincere love interest. "When we are in the company of the loved one the brain produces more serotonin, which gives a sense of well-being, more endorphins, which are natural pain killers, and more dopamine, which increases pleasure.
I LOVE U
Not all love is the same. We make a clear distinction between the love for family and friends, and romantic love. Most people can name about nine people in the first category, but only one in the second. Although we may fall in love many times, only a tiny minority put more than one person in that category at any one time. But what binds the two kinds of love is intimacy. Intimacy is how love starts.
Romantic love; beautiful and intoxicating, heart-breaking and soul-crushing... often all at the same time!
ReplyDeletePeople are seeming to forget that you don't have to be sexually attracted to someone in order to romantically love them.
ReplyDeleteRelationships get closer and closer the more you trust someone, and someone you love is someone you trust the most, someone who knows your weaknesses but chooses not to hurt you with them. That develops a deep form of trust which in turn gives your brain positive chemicals that it becomes addicted to, making you want to be around that person all the time, and increase the chance of survival of both parties, and their offspring. Love is evolutionarily advantageous.

ReplyDeleteCall me naive but I believe love exists not to fulfill our own needs or wants but to empower each other. I think that love is a very selfless act, when you truly love someone you love them for who they are, not for what they do for you.
