BITCOIN MINING ACTUALLY USES LESS ENERGY THAN TRADITIONAL BANKING, NEW REPORT CLAIMS

Bitcoin mining only uses half the energy that the traditional banking system does, a new study claims.

Gold mining also uses up to twice the amount of energy of the bitcoin version, says the report, which was published by cryptocurrency investment firm Galaxy Digital.

The white paper study from the Galaxy Digital Mining team comes after Elon Musk fueled a debate on the energy consumption of bitcoin mining and announced that Tesla would no longer take it as payment for its electric vehicles.

Billionaire former hedge-fund manager Mike Novogratz is the CEO of Galaxy Digital, which made public all of its calculations.

The authors of the study estimate the energy consumption of the entire bitcoin network at 113.89 terawatts per hour, of which 99 per cent comes from the mining computers.

Meghan Markle poses with her once favorite royal,Kate on the cover of a magazine.

Like any proud boyfriend, Harry couldn't wait to introduce Meghan to his family and friends when their relationship started getting serious.

Their long-distance relationship meant they had to wait a while for the introductions.

In their engagement interview, Meghan described Kate as "wonderful" while Harry said his brother had been a "fantastic support".

Asked what it was like introducing Meghan to his dad Prince Charles and William, he replied: "What was it like? It was exciting I mean I've - you know I'd been seeing her for a period of time when I - literally didn't tell anybody at all.

"And then William was longing to meet her and so was Catherine.

"So, you know, being our neighbours we managed to get that in a couple of - well quite a few times now and Catherine has been absolutely."

Meghan then cut in, adding: "She's been wonderful."

Harry then continued: "...amazing, as has William as well, you know, fantastic support.

"And then my - my father as well, we had a couple of - no more than that. A handful of teas and meetings and all sorts of gatherings over at his place as well.

"So, no, the family together have been absolutely, you know, a solid support and my grandparents as well have been - have been wonderful throughout this whole process and they've known for quite some time.

"So how they - how they haven't told anybody is - is again a miracle in itself.

"But now the whole family have come together and have been a huge amount of support."
