Kate Middleton shares a glimpse inside her Hold Still photobook just a day after Meghan Markle unveiled her own

 

Kate's book, created in partnership with the National Portrait Gallery, will be available in UK bookshops and online from May 7, one year since the project was first launched and a month before Meghan's book is published.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who announced earlier today they'd be starting their own YouTube channel, shared a video which flicked through the pages of the book to their Instagram, with the caption: 'Coming this Friday #HoldStill2020'.

A week after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated their 10-year anniversary with a handful of family activities — during which Kate Middleton made a case for skinny jeans — she rewore a garment from the couple’s 2010 engagement shoot: a cream-colored, silk blouse from Whistles.

This time around, Middleton wore the blouse during a phone call with finalists from Hold Still, a community project she founded during the pandemic, in partnership with the National Portrait Gallery. The photos — which were taken last fall at Sandringham House, one of the Queen’s favorite country retreats in northern England — were released this week to coincide with Hold Still’s book launch.

 Kate Middleton, was once faced with a similar problem.

According to a documentary from 2016, two members of the Duchess of Cambridge's staff also quit after she joined the Royal Family.

Speaking in William & Kate: The Journey, royal expert Ashley Pearson claimed Kate's head housekeeper and head gardener left their positions because they couldn't handle how much Kate wanted to do for herself.

"In fact, Kate and William's head housekeeper and head gardener both quit - they were a married couple."

Ashley went on to reveal that this move was very "controversial".

"It was very controversial because they had actually worked for the Queen previously and then came over to work for Prince William and Kate," she explained. "There was a lot of speculation at the time that Carole Middleton had been interfering in the housekeeper's duties, that Kate Middleton was doing a lot for herself and that didn't sit too well with staff."
